Unit 1: Part A

My main art form is Photography. I’ve done a lot of photography and film at school in Photography lessons and Media Lessons. Most of my photography was just of the natural world and using natural light. For this project, I learnt how to use the studio and to take staged still life photography in the style of photographers like Irving Penn.

Unit 1: Part B

I completed a two week placement with The Mechanic’s Institute Review, a creative writing magazine and website based at Birkbeck University. Working with one other student, I created a youth takeover of the site and set up a writing competition for under 18s. I mostly did this placement online from my school with one of the managing editors, Melanie Jones, but I also spent a day at Birkbeck learning about copy editing from the other managing editor, Peter Coles.

Unit 1: Part C

Beauty • Artwork • Studio Olafur Eliasson

In this unit, I completed research into artists and art events. I conducted research into the Irving Penn, I visited the Olafur Eliason exhibition at the Tate Modern, I also visited Footprints Set Design in Peckham.

This section should have been about how class and money affects the progress of music students in the UK. However, I didn’t have time to complete it because of Covid-19.
