RMO Gold Arts Award Portfolio

The Gold Arts Award Portfolio for Rhiannon Macdonald-Osborne at Treasure House CIC

Below is all of the evidence for my Gold Arts Award. If you want to skip the evidence you can look at my final projects here:

Unit 1 – Fashion through the decades

Unit 2 – Newsletter takeover

Unit 1: Part A

In this section, I talk about my main art form, digital photography, and think about ways I can expand this art form, I am interested in making my own fashion, and in learning vintage photography techniques. In this section, you can also find my action plan for the project, the people I worked with, and the work I produced. Because of Covid-19, my project didn’t go entirely to plan but I was able to adapt it as I went along!

Unit 1: Part B

This is all about working with art practitioners. Because of the closures of schools and businesses, I completed some of my placements virtually.

I worked with set designer Izzy Parker and Neil from Dream Decor

Unit 1: Part C

Beauty • Artwork • Studio Olafur Eliasson

In this unit, I completed research into photographers and art events. I conducted research into the photographer, Mario Sorrenti and I organised a trip to the Olafur Eliason exhibition at the Tate Modern. I arrange the trip for the rest of my art class, and for students doing the silver and Bronze Award. In this section, I also talk about how the exhibitions and other photographers influenced and inspired my project.

Unit 1: Part D

This section is all about an issue in the art world. I have researched art and the black lives matter movement and written a blog post about it for this unit.

Unit 2: Part A

When the schools closed in March, I had not started my leadership project. I had lots of ideas about running an exhibition for the other students at my school and had started investigating how to book an exhibition space in Peckham. But then the schools closed and I had to think of something else! I decided to do an art takeover of the school newsletter.

Unit 2: Part B

To take over the newsletter, I had to work with other teachers and I had to learn how to create the newsletter in Mailchimp. In this section, you can read my plan for the project.

Unit 2: Part C

In this section, you can see the newsletter that I created for my leadership project. This newsletter was designed to encourage everyone at Treasure House to participate in the arts and I sent it to all the students, teachers, and parents.

Unit 2: Part D

The newsletter produced lots of great art but because the schools were closed, I needed to create a digital exhibition of the work and a virtual private view. You can see the digital exhibition in this section.

Unit 2: Part E

This section is all about evaluation. I reviewed my project and wrote a report about what worked and what I could have improved.
